As well as being the CEO and a Board Member of QIS LLC, James is also the General Manager of Qatarlyst SPC. James has been involved in this exciting initiative since the beginning in his role as Director of Business Development Insurance and Reinsurance at the QFCA Authority; a role which he first took up in April 2008. He brings more than 30 years of insurance experience in a career spanning both London and Asia in his capacity as broker and underwriter and latterly with Lloyd’s of London where he was responsible for international business development and the operations of the Lloyd’s overseas network.

Khalid Al Mughesib
Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Khalid joined QIS in April 2010 as Deputy CEO & Board Member. He previously worked for Qatar Petroleum and Al Koot Insurance & Reinsurance Co. (QP Captive) as Energy Insurance Manager and for Al Jasr Takaful as General Manager. He brings 18 years of experience in local, regional and international insurance. He received the Certificate of Insurance Practice (CIP) from The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) UK in 2003 and was appointed The International Insurance Society (IIS) Ambassador to Qatar in 2011.

Roy Gilmour
Director Sales, International Markets

Roy started his career in computer service companies in London where he progressed to Head Research and Development. He moved to ARIG, Bahrain in 1982 and worked there until 2000 heading Information Systems and Communications. During this period ARIG developed the base software products (Reinsurance and General, Life and Medical Insurance systems) for their software subsidiary. Since then he worked as a Senior Manager at an Insurance company in the UAE for three years and then for four years in KSA as GM Operations and Development before joining QIS in December 2008. He has extensive knowledge of technology and insurance business with particular reference to this region.

Hesham Hassanein
Global Financial Controller

Hesham joined QIS in June 2010. Prior to that he was Finance Manager for Investment house, one of the leading investment banking companies in Qatar. He brings a cumulative experience of over 12 years in the finance field with different multinational companies in Egypt and Qatar such as Oracle and Pepsi Cola International. Hesham is qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from California board of accountancy (USA) on May 2003, and holds a Bachelor degree in commerce from Cairo University.
