Robin Merttens

Since graduating with a Law Degree from St Catherine’s College, Cambridge, Robin has spent the majority of his career working in the insurance industry. As Group Solicitor at Lowndes Lambert, he held a key role in the MBO and subsequent IPO, and later worked on the £250m Heath Lambert merger. When he left Heath Lambert in May 2000 to help found RI3K, he was Managing Director of Heath Lambert Overseas.
Robin was one of the original founders of RI3K in May 2000 and for the first ten years he served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, and sat on the Board and Executive Committee. Since the acquisition of RI3K by Qatarlyst in December 2010 he has taken on dual roles of Market Place Director and Director of Sales for London and global markets. His responsibilities are to lead the sales effort in those markets and to ensure that the London office is effectively supporting the needs of its customers.
Mike Payne

Mike has a 1st Class Honours degree in Chemistry and has worked over the last 20 years in IT delivery at a senior level, leading UK and pan European delivery teams for major blue chip clients such as RSA, Barclays Wealth, ABN Amro, Deutsche Bank, the Bank of England as well as technology suppliers such as Cisco, Oracle, CapGemini and HP(EDS).
Mike was previously the CTO at the Ministry of Justice, before joining RSA as the UK CTO. He is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) and the Chartered Institute of Managers.
At Qatarlyst, Mike is leading the delivery team defining the architecture and build of the new strategic electronic trading platform as part of the Qatari 10 year vision for financial services.
Ian Meadows

Ian studied languages at the University of Nottingham and has a Masters in Insurance and Risk Management from Cass Business School, where he specialised in e-business. From there, he went onto a period in industry, working in underwriting and claims for leading insurers and reinsurers, and where he also led a number of special projects relating to e-business.
At Qatarlyst, Ian leads the design and positioning of the future platform, working alongside the market bodies, service providers and customers to deliver the products and services required to support the modernisation of the market.

Kelly previously worked as Group Claims Director and Compliance Officer for one of the world’s largest broking groups gaining more than 15 years of insurance, broking and management experience.
His varied roles have taken him across all sectors of the industry including management responsibility for Claims, Risk Management and Legal matters for all types and classes of business.
He was with RI3K from its incorporation and brings 12 years of e-placement experience to Qatarlyst. He is a member of the global executive management team and has direct responsibility for all aspects of UK and Global customer delivery including business development, project implementation and client support services.
