Technology
Qatarlyst trading service runs on an electronic infrastructure built in-house by Qatarlyst’s technology engineers.
Development
Qatarlyst is a recognised pioneer and innovator of technology within the reinsurance industry. In 2000, Qatarlyst (then RI3K) created something never previously attempted: the analysis and digitisation of the entire reinsurance placement process into an application serving a global industry. Delivered on the then fledgling Web, this was a dramatically new approach for companies looking to perform their business process electronically.
Since 2000, Qatarlyst has expanded rapidly on this solid platform by offering other extended services. A central premise to Qatarlyst’s technology strategy is “Services not packaged software”. This is achieved through modular and componentised applications: available standalone or as a complete integrated trading service.
Security
Qatarlyst has been designed to meet industrial security standards, with the following components and procedures:

- Enterprise strength Firewalls
- 24×7 Intrusion Detection Services (IDS)
- Quarterly vulnerability scans conducted by external 3rd party security company
- Unique user identification for user account logon
- Passwords and 128 bit SSL encryption over the Internet
- Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) using digital certificates for authentication
Hosting
Qatarlyst systems are hosted in secure enterprise facilities provided by NTT Online in London, UK and Frankfurt, Germany.

Fully managed hosting services provide 24 hour monitoring and support to ensure availability, reliability and security of the Qatarlyst systems.
Qatarlyst has its own dedicated storage facilities and dedicated back-up infrastructure, not shared – a common area for security breaches – together with additional secure off-site storage.
Business continuity is provided by a second disaster recovery site hosted in Frankfurt.
Optimum end user performance, regardless of the user’s physical location, is provided by a high speed global network platform which allows users to access Qatarlyst via a local access node using standard Internet, or via a private connection creating a secure global community network.
